STUFF WE SEE ON THE JOB
We see some amazing things on the job.
This duct was damaged by an electrical contractor who forced can-lights into the ceiling.
A dirty orifice caused a flame imbalance on this furnace, resulting in “sooting” in one of the heat exchanger chambers.
What does your duct look like?
Insulation was sucked up into the blower wheel.
Can you see the door to the closet where the A/C air handler is located? Of course you have to move things out of the way to get in there, but when space is at a premium …. not a bad idea.
This refrigerant line was pinched by the installer … no wonder the system never cooled very well.
This refrigerant screen was so clogged the system stopped cooling … usually a sign of poor installation quality.
Not the right way to vent a condensing furnace, but have to hand it to the installer for being creative.
Can only guess that the installing contractor ran out of the right sized copper … using a smaller size limits capacity and efficiency.
